Bio - Screenwriting
Eeva Putro is a passionate filmmaker and wanted to deepen her knowledge and skills in film and tv so she completed an additional MA in Screenwriting at Tampere University of Applied Sciences in 2019.

Eeva Putro's first feature film as a Screenwriter is a biopic "Tove." The film is about Tove Jansson, a world-famous Finnish author, painter, and creator of the Moomins. It is produced by Aleksi Bardy and Andrea Reuter (Helsinki-Filmi) and directed by Zaida Bergroth. It will premiere in Finland in October 2020.
"Tove" was screened in Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) Industry Selects in September 2020. It got utmost positive reviews in the Variety and many other film magazines like in Screen Daily.
The screenplay by Eeva Putro (who has a cameo role as the wife of artist Sam Vanni) sensitively constructs a case for Tove as a gay icon whose personal life makes coded appearances in her work. (...)
Among other well-observed details, Bergroth and Putro credibly depict Tove’s loving, but semi-competitive, often needling relationship with the senior artist in the family.
